Embracing Diversity – Children Edition

General Description

Our project consists of 1-2hours visits of medical students in Kindergarten for Disabled Children, during which we perform some short plays, we teach them English vocabulary, prepare some art workshops for them. Medical students – volunteers in the activity, have the opportunity to see how special care looks like and are able to learn on how to communicate with disabled children due to help of the kindergarten teachers.

To improve the wellbeing of intelectually disabled children as well as teach medical students on how to communicate with disabled children

-Providing workshops and activities for children
-Providing volunteering students with discussions with teachers and opportunities to learn those skills in practice

– % students and teachers who considered activity important and would recommend for another edition next year
– % of children who improve their social skills after the activity
– Intelectually disabled children’s wellbeing and mental condition is being improved
– Students are knowledgeable on ways of care and communication with disabled children
