The reason why medical students need this workshop is that the Ecuadorian medical curricula doesn’t include any mandatory subject regarding alternative pain treatment or a Clown Doctor capacitation. And Ecuadorian patients need an improve in how doctors approach to them and deal with their pain or illness.
It is a 5 Sunday workshop (20 hours approximately), in which a capacitated trainer will teach medical students how to increase their self confidence, to provide an alternative way of dealing with chronic pain, cancer or other hospitalization illnesses. Students will get their diploma by going to a hospital and interacting as clown doctors with these patients.
