Peer Support for English Division



General Description

Activity consisted of several steps:
– creation of a special issue of our English-written newspaper “the IFMSAian” which included some freshmen information and was distributed with basic leaflets and booklets about the city and the University issues during the White Coat Ceremony in the first day of school for first year students;
– creation of a buddy system, where our 4th and 5th year students were selected as English Division Program Coordinators for specific Programs (Thai, Taiwanese, Arabic, American and European) – having one older colleague who could younger colleagues ask for support and guidance
-meeting with first year students and IFMSA members
-creation of small campaign for this matter – posted information on possibility to contact us anytime regarding help of any kind per email or facebook on social groups.
Coorelates to outcome 1 and 3 from the Program Proposal.

Mental Health


Main goal of this activity is to provide first year English-speaking medical students guidance and support during first year.
Therefore we would like to achieve it following several objectives:
-Provding space for discussion on topics which aren’t discussed in medical curriculum,such as mental support for med students
– Providing practical guidance on specific problems of medical students which can frustrate them and lead to destabilization of their wellbeing

Ratio of pax who found the workshop useful
Participants are knowledgeable on the ways of protecting their mental well-being and know who to turn to in stressful situations
