Mental Health for Medical students during war

SMSA Syria

General Description

The target group is Medical Students.
Methods: Small Focused Group Discussions were held all over Syria giving us a core statement about each one of the human right violations we face here as Syrian medical students.
Outcomes: reports about the problems and students-built plans for the solutions.

Area of Activity

Migrants’ Health and Rights, Mental Health

Aim: This project aims to assess and intervene on MULTIPLE psychological problems during a SHORT period of time within a LOW RESOURCES environment and over a wide area within multiple background faiths and humanitarian attitudes.

We have applied the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales – DASS – validated questionnaire for a while before the Focused group discussions, but we have not finished the event to re-assess and calculate our effect.

Time frame of the Activity

01/01/2017 (continuous project)

The focused group discussions took place in classes in medical schools or even on the internet so there was no needed funds for the project.

Not affiliated with any IFMSA Program.
