World Human rights day is celebrated annually on the 10th of December, which commemorates the UN’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. SCORP celebrated #OurRights – World Human Rights Day on the 10th of December 2016. The main aim was to attract medical students to the work of SCORP and to help them to promote, protect and preserve the rights of everyone. The preparation for the event took place few days before the actual event itself, we showed a video in every class named, “How to change the world”, and here we wanted to promote the WHRD that was to be held in the following week. On the 10th, we raised awareness on the 30 basic human rights as stated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights especially The Right to Health which is a fundamental human right, and it is extremely essential when it comes to doctors, who are responsible in providing non-discriminatory healthcare. Student volunteers were asked to wear the color green, which is the color of SCORP, and they touched on the topic of medical neutrality which is gaining a lot of importance with all the ongoing conflict all over the world along with the importance of providing universal access to healthcare facilities
